CHICAGO- Puerto Rican Javier Báez was hit twice by Kyle Wright, who however limited Chicago to two rounds and three shots in 4 1/3 innings. Wright hit four shots from Chicago, but kept the lead in a last-minute game, and the Atlanta Braves escaped with a 5-2 victory over the Cubs on Friday.

Baez also contributed with a double, the first hit of his career.

Wright was called up from the club’s alternative training ground to replace Drew Smyly, who was placed on the 10-day disabled list on Friday morning due to a swollen left forearm.
