Dozens of women who have been recorded urinating in the street and whose images have appeared on porn sites are seeking justice in Spain, weeks after their complaint was filed, a spokeswoman for AFP said on Monday.
“We will not stop” as long as the videos are still posted on those websites and there are people who “take advantage”, Paloma Maseda Díaz, the spokeswoman for the 87 applicants in this case, which dates from August 2019, told AFP at the popular A Maruxaina festival in San Cibrao (Galicia, northwest).
That summer, and without them knowing, more than a hundred women, some of them minors, were recorded on the street at the time of squatting to urinate.
A year later, when he clicked on a web link with the name of the popular party, a man from the area came across a porn site that contained a video in which he recognizes his girlfriend and her cousin, Paloma, says Maseda Díaz, which was also recorded.
Total, over 110 women, in six different videos, were identified on paid X sites, according to the spokesman.
“The person who recorded us knew exactly where to place the cameras,” a total of five, according to her.
In the summer of 2020, about a hundred women have filed a class action lawsuit and the illicit marketing of pornographic content.
However, the local court, located in the nearby town of Viveiro, refused to open an investigation on March 15, considering that there was no crime due to the recordings of women urinating in a public place, “where they could be seen by anyone passing by. “, According to the judicial decision consulted by AFP.
“The judge decided to close the case because it was on a public road,” said Mary Fraga, president of the local office of the “Women in Equality” association, which was set up as a popular accusation.
Fraga added that the events took place “in a dead end“, and that the rooms were placed” with forethought “.
The applicants appealed against the case and held a demonstration on Sunday to protest against the court’s decision. Hundreds of people attended the event, according to organizers.
