Ana M. Mateu Meléndez, who is the daughter of the mayor of Ponce María “Mayita” Meléndez Altieri, was confirmed by the Senate today, Monday, as a judge of the Court of Appeal.
The vote came during the extraordinary session where Alicia Álvarez Esnard was also confirmed at the same judicial forum.
Likewise, the Senate confirmed Carlos Vivoni Nazario and Miguel Hernández Vivoni as representatives for the Equality Commission, created to promote the state of Puerto Rico.
However, the legislative body unanimously and loudly rejected the appointment of CPA Kermit Lucena as the controller of Puerto Rico.
