On the official website of the parish of Jesús El Salvador, on Facebook, it was announced that Antonio Gaytán Muruato, known as Niko Liko, is in poor health.
The statement calls for prayers for the physical recovery of the author of the character who for more than 40 years has brought joy to the so-called Generation X in this city.
The publication of the social network was inserted last night by the parish community of the church located on Leyes de Reforma Street and the National Army.
The parish staff announced that Niko Liko’s health is delicate and that she is in the 35th social security hospital.
Niko Liko stood out until his retirement in a TV show on Channel 5, the only one in this city at the time and his character stood out from the other clowns.
His first appearance dates back to the seventies, and the last one with the distinctive red suit was in July 2019, in a tribute that at the age of 80 he was made by groups of clowns in the municipal gym, according to newspaper reports.
