Police are investigating a possible abuse of children, reported this afternoon, in events that took place in the Alturas II sector of Peñuelas.
According to preliminary information, the authorities received a call from the Diagnosis and Treatment Center of the municipality mentioned above, where they reported a possible abuse of children in that place.
The district agents went to the hospital institution, where they were informed that a child under 2 years old was transported and left in the pediatric area by his stepfather.
The minor received medical assistance from Dr. Torres, who diagnosed bruises all over his body, several traumas in the face area and superficial abrasions in his mouth and was referred to the San Lucas de Ponce hospital. His condition was not reported at this time.
The initial investigation was carried out by Agent Aníbal González from the Peñuelas district. Officers assigned to the Ponce Sexual Offenses and Child Abuse Division appeared at the scene and conducted an appropriate investigation. The Family Department was also informed.
