These peeled Pokemon models are awful

From the earliest days of the franchise, Pokemon fans shared their own personal ideas about the creatures, but the peeled Pokemon could be the most annoying versions ever! The @peeled_pokemon Twitter account runs through every Pokemon in the franchise, with a series of details removed with Paint Tool Sai 2. According to Kotaku, the projects started as a joke between friends, but the account quickly exploded on the social media platform; @peeled_pokemon started tweeting in January 2020 and has more than 66,000 followers at the moment. Clearly, the designs have hit a lot of Pokemon fans!

At this point, the account has now distributed images of the first 452 Pokemon with deleted details. That puts them in Gen IV territory, which seems pretty appropriate, given all the recent news Pokemon Diamond and Pearl news! Peeled Pokemon drawings are all posted under the official Pokedex order, so most tough fans won’t have too much trouble identifying them (numbers are included in every Tweet, but no name). However, for casual fans, some may be a little easier to identify than others! An example from the @peeled_pokemon account can be found embedded below.

It is interesting to see how the fans reacted to these posts and how much he took into account in the last year. It’s proof of the franchise’s popularity and also shows the different ways Pokemon continues to inspire creativity among fans. In the last 25 years, Pokemon fans have found a lot of creative points through the franchise, and these peeled Pokemon models are no exception. It’s unclear if the account manager will eventually offer hulled versions of each Pokemon in the franchise, but as the account creator approaches halfway, it seems like a distinct possibility!
