There is a Metroid Prime demake in the works and it has a demo

Nintendo, do something with this series besides being late

Metroid Prime it’s a classic. I don’t think it’s being debated. It’s just that.

Nintendo believes that! That’s why they released it again years later as a trilogy on the Wii after its GameCube debut in 2002. But since that 2009 Wii edition, the series has remained dormant. I mean, there’s supposed to be another one in the works! But that could be years away right now. Enter the fandom.

There is still a huge collective rally around Metroid franchise in general as well First series. One of these groups managed to create a demake of Metroid Prime, which is now available as a demo. The demo mentioned involves Tallon Overworld, the Artifact Temple and the ruins of Chozo, but the team “has to spend more time” working on it to expand to that configuration.

The demo itself is the result of five years of work by “Team SCU”. Probably to avoid legal issues, the team calls this project “Prime 2D”, although I’m not sure it will be enough if Nintendo really wants to solve this.

Because, inevitably, I will receive “thank you Destructoid, you personally sent a Nintendo email to stop this!” messages, I will note here that the creators of the project posted a public post for the demonstration, and “Let’s Play” is already on YouTube (like the one below), one of the largest video platforms in the world, for public viewing. The “secret” is out!
