With recent reports that Apple’s standalone car project is still working, it makes sense that viral video creators would try to capitalize on the latest rumors in Cupertino. But this new viral video is not what it looks like. In fact, this forgery has its roots in a nearly decade-old CGI design.
Like the website The drive points out that the car in the viral video appears to be based on a concept car designed in 2013, Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo. It seems that someone took that car concept and replaced the Mercedes logo with an Apple diary.
Drive also notes that trackball wheels, like the one in this fake video, are physically impossible, which is exactly here in the early 21st century.
