The viral video of an “Apple Car” parking lot is completely fake

You’ve seen the sleek Apple Car video go viral right now tick, Twitter and YouTube? The car has bizarre spherical wheels and can park on its own, if you can believe your lying eyes.

The video garnered over 5 million views Twitter alone, but it’s totally false, in case you have any doubts.

With recent reports that Apple’s standalone car project is still working, it makes sense that viral video creators would try to capitalize on the latest rumors in Cupertino. But this new viral video is not what it looks like. In fact, this forgery has its roots in a nearly decade-old CGI design.

Like the website The drive points out that the car in the viral video appears to be based on a concept car designed in 2013, Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo. It seems that someone took that car concept and replaced the Mercedes logo with an Apple diary.

Drive also notes that trackball wheels, like the one in this fake video, are physically impossible, which is exactly here in the early 21st century. Of course, the problem is that there is no practical way to float completely spherical wheels. unless you used something like magnetic levitation, a completely unlikely solution that Goodyear Tires proposed back in 2016. However, it is still a fantasy.

If you are excited to drive an Apple car, we have even more discouraging for you, which has recently broken down. There have been a lot of people who seem to believe that Apple’s Car could hit the road by 2021, but according to MacRumors, the car will not be aimed at the consumer in the next few years, but will appear sometime until 2025. And even that seems optimistic, given the number of obstacles that still exist for fully autonomous driving on existing roads in the US.

Yes, many people have predicted that we will have autonomous cars so far. But these types of advances are easier to make in the lab than they are on the go. Just ask the US military, which tried to build an autonomous vehicle in 1985 that would have communicated something like Terminator Skynet.

Hold your horses, Apple fans. The future of the robot is near and we are sure that the automatic uprising to make humanity obsolete will happen in due course. You just have to be patient.
