The Vikings will sign NT Dalvin Tomlinson

The Vikings add their defensive line. The Tom Pelissero reports from the NFL.com (via Twitter) that Minnesota signs nasal attacks Dalvin Tomlinson. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports (via Twitter) that the transaction is worth $ 22 million, including $ 20 million in total collateral.

Tomlinson has been a regular starter since joining the Giants in 2017. The defensive lineman has started each of the Giants’ 64 games in the last four years, averaging 26.6 tackles and two sacks per season. He had another solid season in 2020, finishing with the biggest careers in approaches to losses (eight) and QB hits (10). Pro Football Focus ranked Tomlinson as the 25th best inside defender out of 126 qualified players in 2020.

While there were reports that the Giants wanted to detain Tomlinson, there were also rumors that the organization was shopping on the defensive line during last year’s trading deadline; Packers have been mentioned as a potential contender for the nose approach.

The Vikings were apparently on the market for lines of defense. I heard whispers earlier today that I’m a potential suitor for Trey Hendrickson, who eventually signed with the Bengals. Despite Tomlinson’s signing, it looks like Minnesota is still ready to run defensively Michael Pierce next season.
