This is moment to stop the heart a 2-year-old Vietnamese girl sank a 12of-floor balcony – right in the hands of a delivery driver who is hailed as a hero for saving everything.
Nguyen Ngoc Manh, 31, was sitting in his vehicle at 4.30pm on Sunday, waiting to deliver to an elevated complex in Hanoi, when he heard a child crying, VN Express International reported.
At first, he thought a baby was furious, but when he heard people screaming, he rolled out the window, looked up, and watched in horror as the child hung about 200 feet above the street.
The father of the two jumped into action and climbed over a 6-foot wall between him and the building, looking for where the child could land.
“I climbed the wall and saw that it could fall on the metal roof of the house used to store electric generators for the complex, so I tried to climb on top,” he told reporters.
“I managed, but I couldn’t stand it because the roof was crooked,” Manh added.
She lost her leg and slipped just as the girl fell, so she threw herself in front and miraculously caught her – the impact leaving a dent on the roof.
The girl was not crying, she was just looking at Manh as blood flowed from her mouth.
“She looked so much like my baby at home. I was so confused, I could only say, “Please, please, I’m here now,” he told VN Express International.
Manh handed the girl over to a guard, who took her to the hospital.
“I didn’t think much about it at the time, but now I’m happy to do something significant. After rescuing the girl, I left without leaving a phone number, although the girl’s family managed to contact me anyway to inform me about the girl’s health, “said Manh, whose arm muscles have was captured.
Doctors at the National Children’s Hospital said the girl dislocated her hip, but suffered no other injuries.
“Not only has it changed – my life has turned upside down. Normally, my Facebook posts attract only a few dozen responses, now I get tens of thousands, ”said Manh.
“I don’t see myself as a hero, I just want to do well,” he said, adding that he turned down gift offers for his feat.
“Some sent me money through my phone number. This confuses me. I don’t want to receive any money that I didn’t earn on my own, “said Manh.
