The Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) presented this afternoon the accusation against three people, including the head of security of the Minister of Health, for attacking a vehicle with FMLN militants in which two people died.
Raúl Melara, Attorney General, presented at a press conference a series of evidence against defendants Roberto Carlos Coto de Paz, Diego Francisco Alavarado Peña and Héctor de Jesús Castaneda, the subjects being charged this afternoon in the Tenth Court of Peace for the crimes of aggravated homicide and tempted murder.

The prosecutor also said that two weapons used in the attack, a rifle and a pistol were confiscated.
Melara presented a video and a sequence of photos in which the defendants are seen disputing the road and reaching a point where they cross the blue car, then the subjects go out and take out their firearms to shoot at the vehicle in which the FMLN members were traveling.
As for two detained gentlemen who were traveling in the vehicle carrying FMLN militants and who are in detention, he added that they will be released this afternoon because there is no evidence against them.
The General Prosecutor’s Office showed video surveillance images showing the time when FMLN militants were attacked on January 31.
