The victims in the Arkansas Christmas Day massacre were all women

According to local law enforcement, the five people found dead in a Christmas Day massacre in Arkansas were all women and members of the same family.

Pope County Sheriff Shane Jones has released new details about the shooting in Atkins, a city 3,000, 50 miles north of Little Rock on a press conference Saturday afternoon. He said the victims, two adults and three youth, ranged in age from 8 to 50, and some were killed by gunfire in what he described as a “domestic” incident.

“We believe this is an isolated incident and we do not feel there is any ongoing danger to the local public,” he said.

There was no suspect in general, he said. The sheriff’s office has not released identities.
