The United States is donating a storage platform worth more than a million dollars to the judiciary

The United States Embassy in the country reported that thanks to the donation from the North American government, the Dominican Republic’s judicial power is transforming its technological platform from an old or traditional data storage system to a modern digital environment.

According to a statement, the US $ 1,345,000 system will allow Supreme Court courts to digitize, store and share the evidence and files of various cases electronically and securely as needed.

“The technology systems will feature 100 TB of digital storage, backup and disaster recovery capacity. Likewise, support includes services for installation, equipment configuration and training of the personnel who will be in charge. This effort is being made by the United States Government, through the International Office of Anti-Narcotics Affairs and the Procurement of Justice (INL), to contribute to the progress towards a rapid, open and judicial system. country, ”the announcement says.

The equipment provided by INL to the Supreme Court consists of a matrix primary data storage system, a backup system, server control, interconnect switches, and a replication server; and by secondary systems aimed at controlling and managing hybrid cloud, servers, disaster recovery matrix and interconnection controls.

The technology systems will be installed at the Network Access Technology Center, NAP del Caribe, located in Santo Domingo. The NAP serves as a repository for equipment and data, ensuring their integrity, whose access to information is only for authorized personnel of the SCJ.

The project, which starts in Santo Domingo in the first phase and then at the national level, envisages a rigorous virtual training that will be conducted over a period of one to five days, led by an official instructor and simultaneously targeting 10 court technology personnel. The training includes official certifications of the management of the full range of servers the system is considering.
