The trucks and the Fiscal Control Council reach an agreement

In order not to repeal the increase in transport tariffs, the road workers and the Fiscal Control Council (JCF) have reached an agreement, said on Sunday, the spokesman of the Truckers from Puerto Rico, Leonardo Delgado.

“In that negotiation, we reached an agreement with the Council that they recognized, first and foremost, that transportation to Puerto Rico was an essential service. This phrase has a significant legal burden on us. They acknowledged that the temporary tariffs issued by the transport company in December 2020 remained in force “, he said in Delgado in a press conference.

For this reason, they canceled the strike which was scheduled for tomorrow, Monday.

Camiones Unidos de Puerto Rico spokesman Carlos Schettini warned last Thursday that a strike would follow until the JCF renounced the renunciation of transport tariffs and the tariffs approved in 2020 would be recognized. The strike would have affected the supply on the island.
