The suspect’s pursuit ends in a crash in Pomona

ONTARIO, Calif. (KABC) – A fleeing driver slammed into a tractor trailer on Tuesday evening, ending a dangerous and erratic chase through Riverside and Los Angeles counties.

Several law enforcement vehicles were on the scene at the time when the murder suspect crashed a pickup truck and surrendered at an intersection in Pomona around 7pm. A passenger in the truck also got out and was taken into custody.

During the chase, the suspect drove onto the sidewalk at one point and nearly hit other cars on the road. The suspect also drove through the red light and drove into oncoming traffic on the wrong side of the road.

The AIR7 HD had cleared the chase around 6:00 PM when the driver was driving at high speed on the 60 Freeway. Before reaching Pomona, the suspect was in the eastern area of ​​San Gabriel Valley, driving more than 75mph with multiple officers behind him.

Delegates from Riverside County and California Highway Patrol units were in pursuit.
