Colin Cowherd, a sports personality for radio and television, never stops when it comes to the Pittsburgh Steelers. In his most recent run against the Steelers, Cowherd spoke directly to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger about his training and philosophy and how he handles the Steelers’ problem.
Cowherd went so far as to say that the Steelers had sold their souls for Roethlisberger. He described his off-season training, poor practice habits, Pittsburgh’s simplified offense and inability to work with top talent.
Hard words and the first time I listened to them, I was not a little happy. But after unpacking everything Cowherd said, maybe it’s not that far. This team has always gone as far as Roethlisberger will take them, and in the last 10 years that hasn’t been at the Super Bowl. It may be time for Pittsburgh to take out the device to say so and restart this franchise.
