As rival Clemson won titles for its state-of-the-art facility, Miami built its own facility for the first time, and Florida unveiled plans for a standalone facility, the state of Florida began to lag behind. The Seminoles have never had their own autonomous football facility and share their current space not only with other sports, but also with student halls.
The planned 150,000-square-foot facility will include position meeting rooms, a modernized locker room and a weight room that includes cryotherapy, a hyperbaric and high-altitude room, a dedicated recruiting lounge and suite, and virtual reality areas. / performance improvement.
In 2018, Florida State and Seminole Boosters unveiled a $ 100 million fundraising campaign for a new football facility, scholarships and additional sports-specific projects. The state of Florida recently reached the goal of the $ 100 million pledge, with over $ 43 million raised for the privately funded football facility.
The new CEO of Seminoles Boosters, Michael Alford, and coach Mike Norvell have made it a priority to complete facility plans as soon as possible.
“The response of our supporters during the Undefeated Campaign shows their commitment to the state of Florida and our athletics program,” sporting director David Coburn said in a statement. “We need these additional facilities to properly meet the needs of our football program and to allow us to expand the existing common areas in Moore Athletic Center and improve our ability to support all of our sports.
