The Washington State Department of Health says it receives 100,000 doses of vaccine from the federal government every week now, but that is far from the goal of 300,000 doses a week, which is what is needed to reach the state’s goal. to vaccinate 45,000 people a day. Washington currently vaccinates about a third of that number a day.

The state says there are about 1.7 million people in phase 1B, level 1, so this could take several months to pass. However, the following phases open before the completion of the previous phase.

Where to get vaccinated for COVID-19 in Washington State

“We are limited to 100,000 doses per week,” said Michele Roberts, assistant secretary of state at the State Department of Health.

Roberts added that the limited offer means that in some places appointments have to be canceled because suppliers are waiting for more doses to arrive.

About 500,000 total doses of the vaccine were administered statewide. To date, most vaccines have been administered in health clinics and hospitals.

The best way to make sure you get a vaccine when you are eligible is to sign up for FindYourPhaseWa.org or use the Department of Health list and map of eligible providers so you know who to contact in your area.

Mass vaccination clinics are set up in each region. Four opened Monday in eastern and southern Washington. The following sites will include Thurston, Kitsap and Whatcom counties.

“King, Pierce and Snohomish County all have their own mass vaccination sites,” Roberts said.
