The Springfield Walmart location offers COVID-19 vaccinations on Thursday by appointment

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Walmart will host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Thursday, which will run on Thursday, at a location in Springfield. But it’s just on schedule.

Walmart will begin administering Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines in Springfield with a clinic at Walmart Supercenter, 3315 S. Campbell Ave., beginning Feb. 25 through the U.S. Federal Pharmacy Program. Eligible patients can schedule an appointment with the vaccine through the Walmart website, which makes it convenient to vaccinate until the end of the vaccine stock. Vaccines will be available to those who meet the current vaccine eligibility phase in Missouri, which can be found on the Missouri Department of Health website. Insurance is not required, there are no costs for receiving the vaccine, and appointments for the second vaccination will be made at the time of scheduling. Appointments are available between 8:00 and 16:00, and the company anticipates that these events will take place in the next few weeks, as the allocation allows.

Walmart has selected vaccine clinics in locations that prioritize access for those considered most vulnerable. The team took into account demographic information, local health needs and insufficient medical data to identify locations where the company may have the greatest impact in increasing access to vaccines.

“We have two goals as we administer vaccines: first, to get as many shots in the eligible arms as possible so that we can continue the process of reopening our country, and second, to ensure equitable access of the vaccine to communities on which we serve. Most of the new vaccine clinics are located in neighborhoods with poor medical services and we are proud to play a role in increasing access to care in these communities, ”said Dr. Cheryl Pegus, Executive Vice President, Walmart Health & Wellness. “We will continue to find new ways to increase access to vaccination for our clients as we work toward the end of the pandemic.”

Walmart is working with the CDC and states to move as quickly as possible to help administer vaccines to eligible populations in participating states. The supply and eligibility of vaccines will vary according to state and local guidelines. In addition to appointments, the programmer will provide a digital reminder when it is time to return for the second vaccine, which is why customers are asked to create a profile, helping them ensure that customers receive the second dose of vaccine in the required time interval.

Walmart pharmacies will continue to support states and the federal government to increase the accessibility and availability of COVID-19 vaccines. To learn how Walmart and Sam’s Club support the launch of vaccines, visit https://corporate.walmart.com/covid-vaccine.
