The SoulCycle instructor who received the COVID-19 vaccine apologizes

The SoulCycle-to-the-stars instructor who justified her receiving a coronavirus vaccine, describing herself as an “educator”, apologized for the move in a post on Monday on Instagram.

Stacey Griffith, 52, blamed my social media after taking a flak from Instagram users – as well as Mayor Bill de Blasio.

“I want to apologize from the bottom of my heart for my recent action to receive the vaccine,” Griffith wrote in the post. “I made a terrible mistake in court and I’m really sorry about that.”

On Friday, Griffith – one of his devotees Madonna and Kelly Ripa – received the much-sought vaccine at Port Richmond High Shore in North Shore on Staten Island, despite not meeting any current standards for inoculation eligibility under New York regulations.

She sang about getting the photo in a deleted Instagram post since then, immediately attracting the anger of users who were not so lucky.

Pressed by The Daily Beast, Griffith said she qualified for the vaccine because she is an “educator” – school teachers are currently eligible in New York – and claimed that by getting the shot, she used her fame to help establish a positive example.

Griffith was shot despite widespread scarcity, which saw New York postpone appointments and shutter locations as supplies dried up.

In a statement issued Monday morning, SoulCycle distanced itself from Griffith’s actions.

“Stacey Griffith has personally worked on a COVID-19 vaccine in NY,” said a SoulCycle spokesman. “SoulCycle has no role in organizing or obtaining vaccinations for instructors or other employees, nor do we encourage any of our SoulCycle employees to seek vaccine priority as educators.”

Griffith did not respond to further requests for comment from The Post.
