The San Diego Padres reach an agreement with KBO star Ha-seong Kim, the source says

The San Diego Padres have added another big name this season, agreeing to a deal with Korean star Ha-seong Kim, according to ESPN and several reports.

Kim, 25, became one of the best players on the free market when he was sent earlier this month by Kiwoom Heroes, his Korea Baseball Organization team.

Several media outlets reported earlier Monday that Kim was traveling to the United States before the Jan. 1 deadline for MLB teams to sign KBO players. San Diego already made headlines Sunday night by acquiring left-back ace Blake Snell in a successful deal with the Tampa Bay Rays.

The versatile Kim played first shortstop and third base in KBO and it is not clear where he would play with Padres, who already have superstars Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado in shortstop and third base, respectively.

The one who hit her on the right, Kim beat .306 with 30 rounds from home, 109 RBIs, 111 marked routes and 23 bases stolen last season with Kiwoom.
