He said that while a democratic system has been established in the country that has left decades of “authoritarian” regimes behind, democracy is “tender” and is now subject to the threat of “populist” voices trying to “instrumentalize” it. and undermine the fact. that the agreement to end a war that left mourning and thousands dead was a priority.

According to the Ephemelenista leader, El Salvador is on a route to “want to reinstall a repressive regime, where they want to play with fear again, with media terror, where they want to instrumentalize the word democracy and turn it into populism. The country cannot return to those dark times, it cannot return to those times of fear, of terror, where you had to leave the country to think otherwise. Where only by not sharing the views and ideas of the dominant groups you ended up in prison or were murdered ”.

Ortiz also reported that they will launch their new electoral political platform on Jan. 16 before the Feb. 28 elections to elect deputies and mayors, where new bets led by young candidates and other experts in public management prevail.
