Last Tuesday, the adjusted SLO County case rate was 15.6. It has fallen every week since the state home order was lifted in Southern California, and the county has returned to purple.

The county’s positivity rates also fell this week, both the overall positivity rate and the positivity index of the healthy place index (HPI), now at orange levels (3.2% and 3.8%, respectively). ). Another week like this and the county could move to a less restrictive level.

County Public Health Officer Dr. Penny Borenstein previously said SLO County could move from purple to red if both positivity rates remain at orange levels for two weeks. Otherwise, the county’s adjusted case rate will need to reach 7 or less.
