Representatives of various political parties condemned the attacks and assassinations of Frente Farabundo Martí para la Liberación Nacional (FMLN) militants that took place on Sunday evening. In the same vein, Erick Salguero from ARENA expressed his opinion, stating: “we politicians and the president cannot have a hate speech”.

Salguero took the opportunity to request the mediation of the United Nations and the Organization of American States (OAS) for the rest of the campaign.

In the armed attack on left-wing militants in central San Salvador, two people were killed Sunday night and at least two wounded. The prosecutor’s office reported the capture of three suspects in this case.

The event provoked the pronouncement of the country’s political and economic class, in addition to the international organizations that condemned the attack.
