The progressive women’s organization mourns the passing of Ada Skerret

The president of the Progressive Women’s Organization, the representative of Jackeline ‘Jackie’ Rodríguez, mourned today, Tuesday, the death of Ada Skerret, who led the People’s Women’s Organization, as a result of COVID-19.

Skerrett died after being hospitalized for several weeks.

“This is sad news for everyone. I have always acknowledged the ferocity with which Ada defended her postulates, always in a framework of respect and dignity. Today Puerto Rico is losing a great woman, an important political leader for our Island. Members of the New Progressive Party Women’s Organization unite in prayer for Ada’s eternal rest, “Rodriguez said in written statements.

“Our prayers and prayers are with his family and friends today at this difficult time,” he added.

“Certainly, today, Puerto Rico is losing a great defender of women’s rights, and although it will no longer be with us, for which it has fought yes and we must continue to fight for full equality in all acts, women in Puerto Rico must be equal, ”he concluded.
