Quilvio Hernández, the president of Águilas Cibaeñas, is affected by Covid 19, as well as by several players from the team.

“I gave positive results the day after I was champion, because they tested me a few days before,” Quilvio told Listín Diario by phone.

He also said that several players from the regular team gave positive results, but they cannot give their name out of respect for their privacy.

Las Águilas is preparing to participate in the Caribbean Series that will take place in Mazatlán, Mexico, starting on the 31st of this month.

“This situation will probably affect the composition of the team, but in the country we have enough talent to fill any gap,” said Hernandez.

ESPN journalist Enrique Rojas was the first to report the incident on Twitter.

Las Águilas contacted additional staff from all Lidom teams for the Caribbean classic.

The last to report interest was first baseman Ronald Guzmán, second baseman Gigantes del Cibao. “As for me, I feel good, I have mild symptoms, but I’m fine,” Quilvio said.

The eagles have practices convened on Monday, at 11 am, at the Cibao stadium, general manager Ángel Ovalles reported.

Ovalles himself is in the final process of healing from Covid 19. The virus affected several relevant pieces of the Giants in the final, including manager Luis Urueta and three ulcers.
