The potential 4 Steelers cap is losing this season

It’s not enough for the Pittsburgh Steelers to send most of their free agents this season. Pittsburgh may need to get involved with the guys who have a contract and make some tough decisions about veterans whose play doesn’t match their shot. Here are four guys to consider as the Steelers head out of season.

Pouncey has already suggested withdrawal, but regardless of the fact, the team could save $ 8 million in 2021 if Pouncey is released. His game has waned and, although he is Ben Roethlisberger’s security guard, this is still a business.

You probably thought I’d put Joe Haden here, and it’s a real possibility. But if the Steelers only look at him financially, Nelson’s release receives $ 8.25 million from the books.

Guard David DeCastro

Another veteran who saw his song bathing in 2020 was DeCastro. With the potential to save $ 8.75 million and free up a starting place for Kevin Dotson could make sense for the Steelers.

Saving the biggest and most obvious for the last, we have Roethlisberger. Big Ben has said he will do whatever it takes in his salary to play for Pittsburgh this season, but if the two sides can’t reach an agreement, the savings for Roethlisberger’s release are $ 19 million.
