Boba Fett has an unfinished business.

Season 2 of Mandalorianul came to his wild conclusion on Disney Plus On Friday, he surprises us all with a dramatic post-credit scene that sets a new status quo in the underworld of Star Wars and an interesting teaser for season 3.
Let’s dive into a miserable hive of Spoilers. This show is set about five years after the Return of the Jedi.

Assassin Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) bursts into the throne room of Jabba Hutt’s former palace on Tatooine, where Twi’lek butler Bib Fortuna of Jabba (Matthew Wood) is in Hutt’s old place. Fennec kills his guards and frees a dancer.
Jabba was strangled to death by Leia Organa in The Return of the Jedi, and Fortuna seems to have taken over the role of master of the planet’s crime. He also gained weight, suggesting that he had been in charge for some time. He seems to be saying “Maclunkey” (Huttese for “This’ll be the end of you”) shortly after Fennec enters – apparently Maclunkeyed too soon.
Bounty hunter Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) follows shortly afterwards, with Fortuna expressing surprise on his return.
“Boba. I thought you were dead!” he says in Huttese. “I’m so glad to see you. I’ve heard a lot of rumors.”

Now we drive.

Twi’lek is probably much less happy after Boba shoots him and sits on his throne. It seems that Tatooine has a new master of crime.
“Boba Fett’s book: in December 2021” – this is likely to be a test of season 3, given the convention of naming the episode “chapter” of the show and the fact that we know that next season is coming in December next year. There is also many, many Disney Plus Star Wars shows on the road already.
He might be considered a heavy pivot for the show, but Grogu’s main line was largely wrapped up in end of season 2 and this is how the Mandalorian could evolve. Mando’s own adventures may continue (perhaps he will lead the release of Mandalore from imperial rule), while Boba gathers power over Tatooine. Or is it a completely new Boba spinoff! Lucasfilm did not respond to a request for comment.
