Puerto Rico Police Bureau Commissioner Antonio López reacted to the video in which an officer was captured using the patrol speaker to make xenophobic comments and insult a Condado tourist.
In an interview with WKAQ, the official indicated that he has already begun an investigation into what happened and said he does not agree with this behavior.
“We respect all people who come to Puerto Rico, whether they are of any nationality,” he said in an interview.
According to López, this agent is exposed to a suspension of 40 days or until expulsion from uniform.
In the video in which the situation was recorded, a person is heard answering that it was 8:00 at night, when the agent got angry and started to answer.
