The Dominican Liberation Party approved the re-election of its current members of the central committee and agreed to create about 300 new positions in the body.
The decisions are framed in the decisions of the ordinary congress José Joaquín Bidó Medina, which is carried out by the purple political organization.
The central committee has decided that it will be made up of no less than 955 members, who will remain in office for 4 years.
The decisions were announced by the Organizing Committee of the IX Ordinary Congress José Joaquín Bidó Medina, at a press conference at the national house of PLD.
In addition, a transitional paragraph has been approved, indicating that in the period 2021-2025 the Central Committee will be composed of the current 460 members of the Central Committee, legislators, mayors and municipal directors elected in the 2020 elections, in addition to “the proposed by the Political Committee ”and 300 members will be elected at local, national and foreign level.
The PLD created the Advisory Committee, which will be composed of members of the political committee who do not continue as part of this body.
“The president, vice presidents and secretary general cannot hold positions in the Dominican state or can be candidates for elective positions. If they decide to aspire to an elective position, they must give up the party functions they hold before communicating their aspirations “, says one of the decisions adopted by the Congress.
