The pilot’s video seems to capture a person flying a jet-pack in the Los Angeles area

Authorities are investigating another jet that he observed in the Los Angeles area. Sling Pilot Academy, a flight school based in Torrance, posted on Instagram images about the possible jet pack observed off the Palos Verdes peninsula, CBS Los Angeles reports.

“Video made by the flight instructor of the Sling Pilot Academy while flying at about 3,000 meters, near Palos Verdes, south of Los Angeles,” the legend reads. “Catalina Island is in the background. The video seems to show a jet pack, but it can also be a drone or another object. If it’s a “guy in a jet pack”, it remains to be seen if it’s a legal test flight (jet packs are real – there’s a manufacturer near Los Angeles) or related to the observations of jet packs near LAX recently that have caused air traffic disruptions. “

An FBI official told the LA Times: “We are aware of this and continue to investigate the reports.”

According to the Times, the observation took place on Monday.

This is the third alleged observation of the jet pack in recent months. On October 14, a flight crew aboard a China Airlines flight saw what appeared to be person flying a jet pack as they descended into LAX.

The FAA is also investigating an observation on August 30 in the Cudahy and South Gate areas.

“The FAA took the observation reports it received seriously and worked closely with the FBI to investigate them,” the agency said in a statement to the Times. “However, the FAA was unable to validate the reports.”
