The new photos show the Central Park coyote relaxing in a wooded area of Manhattan’s green space.
Images taken on Friday by Benjamin Shyman caught the fur creator standing among the chicks by the lake, near the east 74of The street.
The coyote was previously seen in Central Park last week, going through the snow – and again a week before.
The city’s parks department says a coyote “stays in Central Park from time to time.”
“New Yorkers should not be worried: we believe there is only one coyote; and they have no reason to believe that the population has grown at this time, “the agency said.
In 2021, the department has so far received a reported observation for a coyote in Manhattan, but in 2020 it recorded 34 observations of coyotes in the neighborhood.
Since 2016, the Parks Department has obtained 126 reports of coyotes reported throughout the city through the WildlifeNYC website, the agency said.
