The organizing committee of the first internal congress of the Fuerza del Pueblo party has decided to postpone the closing plenary session of that organization, scheduled for next Sunday to “leave room” for the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD).

“We have suspended so that the results, usually disturbing in what that organization does in recent times, do not interfere in the popular imagination with our work,” said the coordinator of the so-called “Professor of the First People’s Congress Juan Bosch”, Franklin Almeyda .

The political leader also explained that the purple party “made an effort” to prevent the People’s Force from holding the closing plenary session.

“They found out about the postponement of this event, they booked the Sports Palace for Sunday, March 14, trying to prevent the People’s Force from doing it for that period, but not for that date it will be done for another time away and that’s why I reserved that place for Sunday, March 21, which will take place when this plenary session takes place, “said Almeyda, who added that the party led by former President Leonel Fernández had scheduled and even notified the Central Council in advance. For Sunday, March 7, the People’s Force was scheduled to organize the plenary session that will end its congress, which began on November 6, with the participation of over 7,742 delegates. On the same day, the PLD convened the swearing-in ceremony of the new members of its central committee and the election of the president and secretary general of that political organization, in addition to the election of the new members of its political committee.
