Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive, has finally responded to rumors and speculation about GTA 6. Unfortunately, its response is a borderline non-response. At the time of publication, Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have not yet confirmed or unconfirmed the new installment of the Grand Theft Auto series, and there is currently no indication that this will change any time soon.
A few days ago, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, attended Morgan Stanley’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications Conference. And, as you would expect, an investor took the opportunity to ask about GTA 6, and more specifically, when it could be released.
Responding to this curious investor, Zelnick noted that Rockstar Games has not announced any new games for the market. Moreover, when the time comes for Rockstar to announce a new game, it will come in the way of Rockstar, not Zelnick.
“Okay, so Rockstar hasn’t announced any new titles for the market, and when an announcement is made, it will come from Rockstar, so I’ll probably leave you there and I don’t think you would have expected anything else.” said the CEO of Take-Two Interactive.
Unfortunately, that was all Zelnick said in response to the question. However, as some fans of Grand Theft Auto have pointed out, Zelnick did not directly deny the game’s existence when asked when it could be released. Of course, this means nothing, at least a consequence, but it could have confirmed that it was not in development if it was not. At this point, it is safe to assume that the game is in development, but for now, this lack of deconfirmation should not be taken as a confirmation that it is in development, but it is certainly worth noting.
Grand Theft Auto 6 It hasn’t been announced yet, but it is believed to be under development for PS5, Xbox Series X and possibly for PC. For more coverage of the game – including all the latest news, rumors, leaks and speculation – click here or check out the relevant links below:
