The latest patch for Outriders is now available and addresses, among other things, an issue that could lead to the deletion of player stocks. However, this patch does not restore inventory content that you may have lost.
Square Enix said in a blog post that it is confident that the new Outriders patch should stop inventory deletions in the future. To test things out, Square Enix will monitor the situation this weekend to make sure this is the case and then begin the process of restoring inventory content that players may have lost.
“As soon as we are satisfied with the effectiveness of the patch, we will share additional details, including the timing of our inventory restoration process,” the company said. More details about the restoration process will be provided at a later date.
Square Enix said restoring lost inventory continues to be the company’s “highest priority.” When the restore process is solidified, it will not require a patch, as it is a server solution.
There are a few known issues with the April 15 Outriders patch, including multiplayer connectivity issues and inventory items that are currently disappearing. Square Enix said this is to be expected and stressed that the items in the inventory are not really gone. Restart the game or wait a few minutes and then restart the game should return the items.
Square Enix said it was unlikely to address the issue in the first place because it is described as a “marginal case”. However, the studio intends to address this in a future update.
Problems for Outriders at launch have proven to be a headache for those who experience them, but the basic gameplay is generally celebrated. In the GameSpot’s Outriders review, Phil Hornshaw praised the use of cover-shooter and fantasy powers, along with his end-of-game activities.
