The number of Utahns hospitalized with COVID-19 decreases

According to the UDOH, the number of coronavirus patients in intensive care is also low.

The number of Utahns hospitalized with COVID-19 decreased on Tuesday, decreasing by 11.1%, from 396 to 352. The number of patients with coronavirus in intensive care decreased by 8.46%, from 130 to 119.

And nearly a quarter of Utah’s ICU beds are now unoccupied.

However, the death toll continued to rise. Twelve deaths were reported Wednesday; three or those occurred before January 14 and were only confirmed to be related to COVID-19.

Vaccinations reported in previous / total day vaccinations 19,722 / 345,179.

Cases reported the other day • 1,591.

Deaths reported last day • 12.

Hospitalizations reported last day • 352. It fell 44 on Tuesday. Of those currently hospitalized, 119 are in intensive care units – 11 fewer than on Tuesday.

Tests reported the other day • 9,149.

Percentage of positive tests • 17.39%. This is higher than the seven-day average of 16.6%.

Totals so far • 350,000 cases; 1,697 deaths; 13,648 hospitalizations; 2,044,811 tests.
