The New York Yankees get the smell of Texas Rangers instead

The New York Yankees are finalizing a transaction to acquire Vs player Rougned Odor, sources told ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Rangers is expected to absorb almost all of the $ 27 million owed to Odor, sources said. He owes you $ 12 million this year, $ 12 million in 2022 and a $ 3 million exit purchase under a $ 13 million club option in 2023.

Odor spent the last seven seasons as the Rangers’ second base, but the attempt to turn him into a third base ended with Odor failing to make the team’s opening roster.

Odor, 27, led Texas with 30 RBIs in 38 games during the shortened 2020 pandemic season and tied with Joey Gallo with 10 rounds from home, the best in the team. But Odor hit just .167, seven of his 11 hits in September being at home and hit 47 times in 138 bats. He hit .205 in a full 2019 season. In 858 games for the Rangers since his 2014 debut, he hit .237 with 146 home runs and 458 RBIs.
