The new PS Now games are for PS4 only, with no way to upgrade to PS5

PS Now PlayStation Now PS5 Upgrade PS4 1

Sony is great PlayStation Now The update of the week is one of the best of the time, with Avengers and Borderlands 3 Marvel, both part of the range, showcasing the company’s commitment to the subscription service. However, it is also a demonstration of how messy the manufacturer’s membership model is, despite both titles. free upgrades from PS4 to PS5, you will only be able to play the latest version.

There was some confusion about this earlier in the week, so we decided to test. Using our PS Now subscription on PS5, we were able to stream the PS4 versions of each of the titles mentioned above. You can also download games to your hard drive, but you can no more download the latest versions; if you want to “upgrade” to the PS5 edition, then you will have to actually pay for the game.

PS Now, as it is now, it is a PS4 service – there are no PS5 games included on it. However, we feel that this underscores once again the messy transition that Sony is going through. With both Avengers Marvel and Borderlands 3 offering native PS5 versions with free upgrades, many PS Now subscribers rightly assumed that they would also have access to next-generation ports. It’s not necessary.

It’s still a good upgrade for the subscription service, but it’s probably a reminder that the platform owner needs to get back to the drawing board here a bit. Despite efforts to improve the quality of PS Now – which, to be fair, were somewhat successful – it still does not feel that the company takes the service seriously. We hope that by the end of the year everything will be renewed, so such misunderstandings will cease to exist.
