“One of my programmatic commitments, when I was a candidate, was to develop a Transparency and Anti-Corruption Plan. During the swearing-in message, he stressed that he will share with the citizens the economic and fiscal situation of the city. “The municipal council is in a serious fiscal and social state. Aguadilla has a high level of unemployment and a disproportionate municipal debt. The last administration spent more than 50% allowed by law and the tax coffers draw a deficit of 4 million dollars in revenue, “he added.
“I fully understand the mandate that people fulfilled in November last year. This mandate, not only in Aguadilla, was clear, but also in all of Puerto Rico. For this reason, before taking the oath, I have already started working with other members of all parties, traditional and emerging.
