Although we will not know details about the new 2022 Jeep Wagoneer until its official launch on March 11, 2021, Autoweek reported that we can expect one thing: Amazon Fire TV screens integrated into the Uconnect infotainment system.

Fire TV is Amazon’s answer to streaming services, but it also allows you to play video games, listen to music and use other applications. And Jeep will be the first manufacturer to implement that software in a car environment. Autoweek reports that it will have the same interface as your Fire TV in your home and you will be able to use your account without any problems. Basically, you can start watching a show at home, then get in the car and keep watching where you left off.

Jeep wants you to know that this will not be available to distract drivers because the technology is not available while the vehicle is in motion. Only passengers can use Fire TV in this case. The driver will be able to access it while in the park. Always a bonus if you end up spending a lot of time in parking lots waiting for meetings nowadays.

You will also be able to download content. So, if you go on a road trip through absolutely nowhere, you will be able to finish your show without having to broadcast it from the internet. Considering the prevalence of “screens” in response to my previous question about keeping children happy on the road, this will be an advantage for families who see each other on the road on a regular basis.

Everything is fine and dandy, but it raises a big question: what are these screens for look that? It’s one thing to provide a little neat technology to keep parents around the world healthy. It’s different to do it on a screen that protrudes from the rest of the interior like a thumb. But we won’t know more until 11.
