Leaker known as “DuanRui” has distributed several images which might give us the best look so far at Apple’s redesigned notch for the iPhone 13. The new images follow similar images shared by Leaker last week, but the latest photos include a comparison to the existing iPhone 12 notch.

DuanRui posted three images on Twitter that apparently come from Weibo, although the details of the source remain unclear. They all include what appear to be “movie samples” or screensavers similar to those shown in the previous images, unless you can see a clear reduction in notch width compared to the iPhone 12
The reduced width is activated by the headset integrated in the upper frame, above the TrueDepth camera and Face ID components, indicated by the space left in the middle. According to a report on the Japanese site Mac Otakara, the TrueDepth camera array on the iPhone 13 “gets narrower” as the receiver at the top of the display moves to the edge of the case.
DigiTimes claimed in February that the “iPhone 13” will have a redesigned face recognition system that will allow a smaller notch at the top of the screen. Apple’s trusted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also said that the iPhone 13 will have a smaller notch, although he did not mention that the headset will be repositioned.
A pre-printed, 3D-printed layout suggests that, compared to the iPhone 12 Pro, the iPhone 13 Pro will have a notch 5.35 mm in height, as opposed to 5.30 mm and 26.80 mm wide, down at 34.83 mm.

The iPhone notch has remained unchanged since debuting on the iPhone X in 2017, and Apple could take advantage of the redesign to include more details on the screen on both sides of the notch, where the cellular information and battery icon are currently located. .
