The new AstraZeneca report says the vaccine was 76% effective in preventing Covid-19 symptoms.

Five states have extended eligibility for the coronavirus vaccine to anyone 16 years of age and older and at least 22 years old plan to open it to people 16 and older by the end of April.

Alaska opened vaccinations for anyone over the age of 16 on March 9 Mississippi on March 16 West Virginia extended on March 22 and Utah and state-run sites in certain Arizona the counties opened on March 24. People aged 16 and over Oklahoma can be vaccinated through the Chickasaw Nation Vaccination Program, but not yet through the state program.

As of Wednesday, Louisiana, Iowa and Washington are the latest states to announce plans to extend coronavirus vaccine eligibility to anyone 16 and older, announcing on Wednesday that they will extend vaccinations in late March, early April and May, respectively.

For all states that currently vaccinate anyone aged 16 and over, people aged 16 or 17 can only receive a Pfizer vaccine, as it is the only authorized option for use in that population so far. Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are authorized for use in adults over 18 years of age.
