The new 24-inch iMac with M1 is so thin that Apple had to rethink where they were going to put the headphone jack.
Apple has moved the headphone jack on the new M1 iMac to the side because it is too thin
Apple kept the headphone jack on the new iMac, but the computer itself is so thin at 11.5mm that the company had to move it elsewhere.
Where did they move the headphone jack, you ask? On the side of.
Due to the extraordinary work done by MKBHD on Twitter, the headphone jack usually has a depth of 14 mm, which means that there is no way that Apple could fit this on the back of the computer, where the port is usually on the iMac. Instead, they had to move him to the side.
Fun fact: this new iMac is so thin (11.5mm) that it can’t mount a headphone jack on the back (usually 14mm deep), so they had to put it on the side. pic.twitter.com/obVif0xy0B

Moving the headphone jack to the side of the iMac makes more sense, as it makes it easier to connect headphones without having to turn the entire computer. But at the same time, it makes us wonder: who are all these people asking for a headphone jack in 2021? It’s time for people to realize the benefit of having a real wireless experience.
