The Nevada Highway Patrol identifies drivers in a fatal accident in the wrong direction near the Moapa Valley

MOAPA VALLEY (KTNV) – The Nevada Highway Patrol identified the two drivers involved in a fatal accident in the wrong direction on Interstate 15 near Moapa Valley on Thursday around 9:30 p.m.

According to the agency, a Toyota Tacoma driven by 39-year-old Rayanne May Walters from Logandale was traveling on the wrong road on I-15.

The troops say the truck was heading north on the southbound lane near Mile Marker 101 in Clark County (near Moapa Valley), while a Mercedes Sprinter van was traveling south.

The driver of the van was identified by authorities as Dylan Jeffrey Hazelhurst, 30, of Grand Junction, Colorado.

The two vehicles collided head-on. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
