Even Muppets are “offensive” these days.
Anyone who broadcasts “The Muppet Show” on Disney + will first see a declaimer – a warning about “offensive content”.
Disney launched five seasons of the iconic streaming show on Friday, allowing viewers to enjoy watching Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and their famous guests as part of its $ 6.99 a month service.
The disclaimer displayed before each episode warns viewers that the show presents “stereotypes” and “mistreatment of people or cultures.”
“This program includes negative descriptions and / or ill-treatment of people or cultures. These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now, “the statement said.
“Rather than eliminating this content, we want to recognize its harmful impact, learn from it, and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together.” disclaimer.

It is undeclared exactly what Disney considers offensive in the show, but some characters portray Native Americans, Middle Easterners and people from Asia.
And in season five, the legendary country singer Johnny Cash is seen singing in front of a Confederate flag.
The warning will also appear in front of iconic films, including “Aristocats”, “Dumbo”, “Peter Pan” and “Swiss Family Robinson”.
