The movie Resident Evil reveals the first poster

resident Evil actor Chad Rook has revealed what appears to be the first poster in the upcoming remake of the live action movie! The image is similar to Resident Evil 4 Chestnut box art, with a forest over a red background, with the names of several characters who appear in the film. It is worth noting that this image has not been shared by the official Twitter account Resident Evil or Screen Gems, so fans should take this image with a grain of salt until it is confirmed as official. However, it certainly looks legitimate and definitely works like a movie teaser!

The poster can be found in the Tweet embedded below.

The poster does an excellent job setting the tone for the film. The coloring gives it a strong horror movie feel, and the presence of the characters’ names should give the audience an idea that this reboot will be very different from previous Resident Evil movies. It’s a subtle poster, but one that should help build the anticipation of the film before its release later this year!

In the film, Rook will play Richard Aiken, a member of the STARS team. Rook will be joined by Kaya Scodelario (Claire Redfield,) Robbie Amell, (Chris Redfield), Hannah John-Kamen (Jill Valentine), Avan Jogia (Leon S. Kennedy), Tom Hopper (Albert Wesker) and Neal McDonough (William Birkin ). The film is written and directed by Johannes Roberts and produced by Robert Kulzer.

While previous Resident Evil movies played fast-paced, free-to-play adaptations of the Capcom video game franchise, the upcoming reboot looks much more accurate. It seems that the film will cover the events of the first two games in the series, with a cast that reflects this fact. Previous Resident Evil films have centered around the original character Alice, but the new film seems to focus on the STARS team. Long-time fans of the series should be very pleased with this decision and it will be interesting to see how faithful the finished product will be!

resident Evil will be released in theaters on September 3, 2021. You can check out our previous coverage of the film right here.
