San Juan Mayor Miguel Romero confirmed tonight that after receiving COVID-19 molecular test results, he did test positive for the virus.
“Good evening, I received the result of the molecular test I performed today, which was positive for COVID-19,” Romero wrote.
The first mayor assured that he has no symptoms at this time and that he will remain isolated due to medical protocols and restrictions.
Earlier, the mayor had stated that “as part of the preparations to take my daughter to university, I performed a test for COVID-19 virus antigens, which gave a positive result for the presence of viral proteins.

Governor Pedro Pierluisi is isolated after Romero’s positive test, when he met with the mayor yesterday.
Pierluisi assured in an interview with Jay and his x-rays that he is feeling well and that he will be in quarantine for the next few days.
“I doubt I have this (but) it is better to be safe,” the governor added.
