In recent years, Square Enix has been developing mobile games together Final Fantasy XI R with Nexon. The game has been dubbed “MMMRPG” or “Multi-Player Mobile RPG”. But now, apparently, it is no more.
Originally announced in 2015 as Final Fantasy XI Mobile, the game was promised to be a mobile version, you guessed it, FFXI. It was announced for release in both Japan and South Korea in 2016, but that never happened. Information about social games reports that FFXIR failed to meet expected standards and project developers were moved to other games.
Final Fantasy XI R apparently it was listed in the development pipeline last fall, but was officially canceled in February. Kotaku seeks clarification.
