The Mexican company confirms that it has made the payment to Agriculture and that they have reached an agreement

On February 18, IPEM sent a letter to Pablo Anliker warning that if it did not pay its $ 9 million debt, it would resort to international arbitration. An interview with MAG was held on Wednesday, but they remained silent.

At 10:08 on Wednesday morning, the communications coordinator of the Ministry of Agriculture and Growth (MAG), Alessandra Quiñónez, broke the silence she had maintained since last Friday, April 7, when the version of that ministry appeared about the reason why a debt of $ 9 million was not paid to Integradora de Productores del Estado de México, SA de CV (IPEM).

“Good morning, I share the official position of the Mexican company IPEM,” he wrote in a first message. He then attached a document, a press release, dated April 13, in which the company mentioned, among other things, stated that the intention of the news published by this newspaper on April 13 was “to affect the image of one of our business partners”, ie MAG, whereas the status of the content of the letter in which he warned about arbitration was not verified if the debt was not paid.

The statement sent by Quiñónez indicates that there is no such threat as a result of “a sincere and frank dialogue with government authorities, in particular with the newly appointed Minister of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, David Martínez, with whom an agreement was reached in favor of both parties ”.

The latter indicates that the debt of agriculture with IPEM has not been paid. According to the February 18 note sent by IPEM, it is nine million dollars. Upon receipt of the document sent by Quiñónez, she was asked if MAG would give her version of the debt, to which she replied with a yes. “We will gladly pass them on,” he added.

Then he was shown that we would appreciate an interview with former Minister Pablo Anliker (appointed from April 6 as Deputy Minister in MAG, according to the decree published in the Official Gazette on April 7), because there were questions to do about the same case in due to other implications that have been derived from the non-payment of such a debt. Quiñónez did not answer.

For his part, Minister David Martínez echoed IPEM’s statement. “Some media, without the permission of IPEM, made false and slanderous publications. I understand that there are newspapers that are trying to affect our government … “, he posted on his Twitter account at 16:47. It had been more than five hours since Alessandra Quiñónez had insisted on knowing the MAG version.
