“Unfortunately, we have the second death in less than a month at that intersection. In February last year, a man who was driving a motor boat died, who was hit by a car and yesterday there was another accident in which a 14-year-old teenager died. The mayor also pointed out that, in fact, state agencies have installed a tool to study traffic in the area “but that was a year ago, but we do not know its outcome.” This detour on PR 180 was made to cope with the intense and regular traffic of the urban area and became one of the main ones in Salinas.
“There is nothing that can compare the pain of families who lose a loved one to an accident and I repeat, in less than a month we had two fatal cases in that area. This situation must be resolved immediately. If we had the force of law in the municipality to have solved this, it would have been done a long time ago.
